Teodoro Nieto Anton is the consummate painter of Castillian Landscapes. With bravura brushwork he builds color to a thick impasto, reminiscent of the omnipresent stucco in the artist's environs. Within Nieto's purview there exist architectural perspectives, coastal scenes and still lifes. His expressive palette of earth's ochers and umbers and the cerulean of a brilliant sky impel the viewer into the serenity of a timeless present. The Spanish-born Nieto, who maintains a studio in Madrid, spends week-ends in Ayllon, the village of his birth in Segovia.

    Nieto received a fine arts degree from the Facultad de San Fernando de Madrid. His paintings have been shown in exhibitions around the world.
