Carolyn was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1943. She graduated from Stephens College in 1963 and continued her studies in art at Huntington College, Montgomery, and the University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee. She now lives and works in Houston, Texas. She is married to an Episcopal priest and has three adult sons.

     Carolyn believes art is an outward expression of her inner feelings, and one of the most meaningful ways she relates to the world. Through her work she addresses the human struggle to make sense of our existence and our relationships with one another and with God.

     It is her hope that her work will trigger in the viewer images, memories, dreams and visions. While each individuals reaction will be different, it will never-the-less emerge from humanitys common pool of symbols and shared emotions.
