Kippy Hammond was graduated
with a BFA in Visual Arts from the University of Georgia. She followed
other pursuits until 1986 when she returned to the studio. While
maintaining a private studio she continued studying pastel and oil
portraiture with many outstanding teachers, including Daniel Greene,
Kate Fetterolf, and Constantine Chatov. Studies in pastel included
workshops with leading national pastelists, such as Albert Handell,
Alan Flattman, and Kay Polk. Kippy's work has been recognized in
numerous exhibitions and solo shows receiving state, regional, and
international awards. She is a signature member of the Southeastern
Pastel Society and founding member of the Atlantic Coastline Artists
Guild.

international guest of honor, Vernon, France. Two
of her paintings represented France in the touring Europastel
Exhibit "Il
pastello contemporaneo in Europa", Italy, October 2002.
February, 2003, her work was exhibited in the second
phase of Europastel in St. Petersburg, Russia.
1986-1998
there were numerous exhibitions of her work throughout
the Southeastern USA, including Best in Show, First
Place awards in regional competitions Her work has
been included in exhibits in the Georgia State Capital
and governor's
office.
Kippy's
teaching experience is extensive, including art education
for middle school as a full time art teacher. She
has taught drawing for elementary students as an
Artist in Residence with the Georgia Council of
the Arts. Traveling with the Georgia Art Bus program
that served remote locations of Georgia, she conducted
seminars with elementary classroom teachers on
how to teach drawing and how to incorporate drawing in
other curriculums. As co-founder of the Hammond-Boyd
Art School she taught all mediums for adults, middle
school and high school students.
Presently
living for the majority of the year in France, Kippy continues
to paint landscapes and commissioned portraits
for clients in the United States and Europe. Ms. Hammond
offers pastel exploration workshops in France
and through art facilities in the United States.
The
artist also hosts visiting professional artists
for La Bonne Etoile, a working studio/retreat at her
home in France. |
